Google Partners with MIT Labs

Google and MIT are collaborating on a new open source program aimed at kids interested in developing mobile apps for the Android platform.  With the software called “App Inventor“, Google and MIT are attempting to design a user-friendly graphical interface to teach programming and other basic computer science concepts in a non-technical manner.

Considering the great success of MIT’s “Scratch” project App Inventor may have a promising future. Along with the software MIT is providing educators with tutorials, tech support, and a variety of curriculum based learning modules. More information is available at MIT Center for Mobile Learning.
